AEL-CT6772 Lock Spring

Are you experiencing issues with the lock mechanism on your Altman Easy Latch for your 1967-1972 Chevy/GMC?

We tracked down a problem with the detent springs on our AEL-CT6772 latch kit. One of the legs on the spring does not exit the coil at the point where it should. This results in the Lock Switch not operating as it was intended. We have addressed the issue and all kits moving forward are being equipped with the revised springs and lock levers.

What does this mean for those that have the incorrect components?

We have put together a couple of options for you:

Option 1: We will send you the new components for you to switch out. The swapping out of these parts is simple. You can see below how it is done.

Option 2: We will email you a UPS return label for you to send us your latches. We will swap out the parts and send them back to you.

Both of these options are free to you.

Our goal is to provide quality parts that people want to use in their vehicles. When we discover an issue or an area for improvement, we make our best effort to address it accordingly.

Below you will find images that will help you identify the "problem latches". If your latches resemble the "problem latches" pictured below, you may experience locking issues. If so, please use one of the 2 options detailed above.

If your latches resemble the "good" latches pictured below, but you are still having locking issues, it may simply be an adjustment and we would be happy to help you work through it. Just give us a call at 1.866.987.4783

Once you have decided which option is best for you, please send us an email at sales@triquemfg.com
